After working professionally on large classic private yachts, Mike, the events founder, moved to Finland in 1997.Since then he has cruised much of Finland under sail & oar. American by birth, and father of two. Fluent in English, German and Finnish.
Mike Hanyi has decided to concentrate on his studies during 2007, and can therefore not be active here in the same way as we have been used to under all these years. The Raid 2007 organizers wish to thank Mike for the splendid work he has done for the Raid Finland event by building it up from scratch. We wish him good luck in his studies and hope to see him back in the Raid as soon as possible.For the 2007 Raid, Johan Fransson will be the main contact person.
Johan Fransson
Johan has been partly involved in most of the
previous Raids, and in 2007 he will be in charge of the entire
raid.
Fluent in Finnish, Swedish and English.
He is the man to contact if you want to sign up for the Raid 2007.

Lars ”Ville” Lindfors
Ville has been with the Raid since 2003. He is in charge of the
race committee and the safety boat fleet, even when difficult
situations arise, Ville is one cool customer.
Fluent in Swedish, Finnish, and English.
Susa Hanyi

Susa, Mike's wife, has been taking care of the web site and finances.
She speaks Finnish, Swedish, German and English.
She is quite busy with their small children Nathanael and Nelli.
Christer Byström
In 2002 Christer entered the raid in rented Hilda, in 2003 he joined Peter Lord in Meander, in 2004 he came with his friends boat Black Bear, in 2005 he joined the safety crew as probably the second most knowledgeable person on the topic of Raid Finland. He runs the archives website and for 2007 also the official site and helps with many hidden details of the raid.

Dick Lindberg
He joined the safety crew in 2004 and has been a welcome addition to our crew in 2005 also. Fluent in Swedish, Finnish, and English.
Janne Länsipuro
In 2002 Janne and his team's catering turned out to be an overwhelming hit. His talent as an organic farmer/chef left participants demanding his services make an encore for 2003, which lead to 2004... now Raid Finland can not be run without his great food.
Janne's catering is second to none. He will be happy to cater for your event as long as it is not during Raid Finland time! Janne is fluent in Finnish, Swedish and English.
